The immediate area around the vacation home is replete with artists, artists' studios, and many art festivals throughout the year. The Rhododendron Festival, the Artists' Studio Tour, the Gem and Mineral Festival, and the Blacksmith Festival are only a few. The local artists love to have visitors in their studios. There's even an artist's studio and gallery on site, private to you alone, where you can shop or play in the studio.
Within walking distance of the vacation rental, there is white water rafting, mountain hiking trails on the Appalachian Trail, and the second tallest mountain east of the Mississippi, Roan Mountain, along with many other vacation activities to accommodate your interests and fancy.
